We often hear a requirement of being able to attach the ER output as an attachment in document management to a parent record, like being able to attach an invoice document to document management for CustInvoiceJour.
Nikolay Selin from Microsoft has put these words on how the requirement could eventually be solved:
"1. ER offers a new property in the configured ER archive destination – list of references to parties that must be associated with a generated report. An individual reference can be defined in the same way as the reference to an email recipient in email destinations – e.g., you can refer to a data source of the target ER format returning a reference to a generated invoice.
2. When such a reference is configured, in addition to the record in the DOCUREF that refers to the ER archive record, a new DOCUREF record is created to link the same generated document with an invoice record. So, when you request a customer and his invoices, you can get generated invoices from the DM attachments of the found invoice records. "
