It could be great value for the users to have an option to be able to choose according to which principle the CTP should be updated when entering a new sales order lines using Delivery date control "CTP".

For now the system is programmed to allways use principle "Net change minimized" - as described https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/supply-chain/master-planning/master-planning-setup.

The sales clerks continously runs into situations where customers are getting later delivery dates that we can actually deliver. This means fever orders and lower customer satisfaction.

The reason is that planning strategy "Net change minimized" will no re-distribute the pegging. Therefore the new order line will get lower priority than other sales order lines with a later delivery date.

For our business and for many other business it is important to be able to give a right delivery date - even though it requires more performance. Therefore I suggest to parameter "CTP planning method" with options 1. Regenration, 2. Net change and 3. Net change minimized on eg the master plan or coverage group...

Thanks for your idea. As classic built-in planning is deprecated we will not invest in it providing more CTP options, as your idea is suggesting.

With Planning Optimization, we have CTP capabilities that will always give you the accurate result, taking into account the delivery dates of all planned orders. You can find more information about it here: Calculate sales order delivery dates using CTP - Supply Chain Management | Dynamics 365 | Microsoft Learn

There is a related idea, that is to expand the CTP on planning optimization to be instant, if desired, you can vote on it here: Microsoft Idea (dynamics.com)
