As the name suggests, it would be great if there was an action to update a contact or lead field within a journey. Currently the only option I'm aware of is to create a workflow/flow.


The addition of this feature would significantly speed up delivery of marketing campaigns.


An example of how we would use this functionality...

  1. Contact enters journey from segment based on LinkedIn Lead Gen Form
  2. Update Source Campaign Field
  3. Determine region (if/then)
  4. Update Owner field
  5. assign sales activities such as phone calls

This would also allow the updates of custom fields such as Last Email Opened, Clicked, etc... This is valuable information for sales follow up. In addition, bounced emails can aid with identification of customers who may have recently changed jobs. In other words, populating contact and lead fields would help us manage our customer relationships. See what I did there?
