Current functionality:
- Security Group defined in Microsoft Entra ID
- Members assigned in Microsoft Entra ID
- Security Groups created in BC (Security Group Buffer 9022) & linked to Microsoft Entra ID Security Group
- Permission Sets assigned to Security Group in BC (Access Control 2000000053)
Happy with all above.
When it comes to assigning Profiles (Roles) (All Profile 2000000178) to users this (as best I can tell) can only be done in User Settings (User Personalization 2000000073) one by one which becomes tedious when there are many users in the environment.
Can you add the ability to link default Profiles (Roles) to Security Groups then every user within the Security Group inherits the Role?

I just found in the "Profile (Roles)" page you can set a Role as a "Use as default profile" . I am wondering if we set this for the generic role that all our users use (Business Manager) ... will it get set by default for a new user? so that would achieve the desired effect. I will try and test this.

Absolutely !! Profiles need to be added to BC EntraID Security Groups. Why not make it so we can just drop a person in an EntraID group and they are completely ready to go in BC? We can tie it to license assignement and Permission Sets... so profile is the only thing you have to remember now? Please add this so BC user management can be simple enough for a helpdesk to do :)

Agree this would be very useful when onboarding new BC user.Would make perfect sense to tie up a Profile with a security group as the default setting but also allow us to vary it if we wanted something different

Having this would be a very useful feature, that would save a lot of time, and expand the concept of a default Profile(Role), which can only be set against a single Profile. Setting it at Security Group level effectively allows many defaults

I appreciate this needs more votes to feature as a consideration but I have a couple of customers who have asked for this feature too.The change from conventional User groups to security groups has peaked interest in the ability to manage roles at a group level it seems.
