Currently most pages (i.e. sales order subform, purchase order subform) have the variant column hidden by default. It would be convenient for a number of our customers if there was a setting that would always show this column, as they almost always have items with variants. I am aware that it is possible to customize those pages, but it would be far more convenient to have this controlled by a single setting. I would also note that the variant mandatory field on the item card should trigger a query as to whether this setting should be enabled, as otherwise you can have pages with mandatory variant values where the variant is not visible to the user without customizing the page.
Comments
When BC have the option to force if Variants, they should of course also show the variant field on ALL pages with lines that can include ITEM.Someone didn't think this through @microsoft ;) Looking forward for this fix from MS. (hopefully) :)
