Summary: Our customer would like Microsoft to develop prepayment functionality for blanket orders, for both the sales and purchase side of Business Central.

A customer of ours has the following situation.

They generally work with blanket orders. The blanket order is a contract, which comes with a commitment to deliver with a certain prior agreed upon price.

To be able to deliver the goods for the agreed price our customer has to purchase certain raw materials. Because of this purchase, our customer wants his customer to cover a part of the costs. Therefor our customer asks for a prepayment.

Currently the prepayment is a certain percentage of the whole blanket order. When their customer places an order a part of the prepayment is used. There is a lot of manual calculation needed to calculate the part of the prepayment which is then deducted. The second issue is, that there is no real connection between the prepayment and the blanket order, this also becomes time consuming, for they have to find the correct prepayment the blanket order is related to.

Our customer would like Microsoft to develop prepayment functionality for blanket orders, for both the sales and purchase side of Business Central. It may operate the same way as prepayments on purchase and sales orders.
