Currently, when browsing products via category browsing using navigation hierarchy - Dynamics solution tends to sort the product listings for that category by the Product Number (that too, only ascending order). Instead, provide Retailer's Merchandising manager ability to decide & control the sort order of products when browsing products via navigation hierarchy. e.g. Under Menswear > Jackets - Retailer may have desire to show the "New arrivals" at the top & not have the "New arrivals" be lost due to product number being highest.

Ordering of products for navigation is supported and configurable in HQ on category management pages. For CSU powered experiences, you would be expected to update display order of products on channel navigation hierarchy associated with the channel. One can assign the 'display value' at a product level today and if product is associated to more than one category in same hierarchy, product will have same display value.

e.g., 'Summer Hoodie' has a display token value of 10.00
That means, if 'Summer Hoodie' is placed in category X & Y - it will have same display value associated to it.
And, now if 'Category X' has no other product with token value less than 10.00 - then it would be first product in category X
And, if 'category Y' has 5 products with 'display token value' less than 10.00 then 'summer hoodie' will be displayed at 6th position in 'Category Y.'

Also, that 'Product display order' is only configurable and recognized for Category page. Search results are ordered on relevance determined by search based on user entered search term.
