The current inventory sync from BC to Shopify seems to sync recent inventory transactions (from the last time the sync ran, I presume). But it would be very useful to just sync the entire inventory balance for an item back to Shopify (by location and variant, obviously). So, if if have 100 of a product on hand, but no recent inventory transactions, choosing the "Send Balances" option on Inventory Sync would replace whatever is shown in Shopify with 100.

One of the challenges I'm having with the connector is keeping inventory the same between the two systems, especially when there are returns. To be fair, it's always hard to keep inventory sync'd when two systems are both tracking inventory. By providing an option (a choice) to push the full balances, not just the sum of recent Item Ledger Entries changes back to Shopify, it would greatly streamline the inventory reconciliation process.

Related: I don't find a detailed inventory transaction ledger on Shopify. This also makes it hard to reconcile inventory. But sending full balances back from BC to would be useful in certain instances to just set things equal easily again.

Thank you for reaching out,

Currently connector syncs balances, depending on setup it can be either "Projected Balance" or "Inventory minus reservation". For more informations, see Synchronize items and inventory - Business Central | Microsoft Learn

In Shopify admin, in the product or variant (if used) card you can choose the Adjustment history link and see details of how stock was changed.

Just realized I may be wrong about this - it probably already does sync balances. I was getting thrown off by my inventory availability settings and open sales orders impacting what was showing on Shopify
