As of 16.3, the QuickBooks data migration tool only works with QuickBooks 2017 and 2018. The current version is 2020. If it is going to be advertised as a feature, it needs to keep pace with the latest versions of QuickBooks.

This is still an ongoing issue. Partners and clients are finding workarounds, but MS support for migration would be great!

I have been able to use the tool with the latest versions of QuickBooks. Partners and Consultants need to understand the Microsoft Data Exporter Tool they are using and maybe we can do an update to the tool that allows for special characters in the customers, vendors and items area which will keep Partners/Consultants from receiving the Microsoft.Net error so much. (i.e. /, -,'). I tend to get these errors a lot at customers and have to edit those areas for the clients.

Since QB 2020 is soon to be replaced by QB 2021 (October 2020 it is available) either:

1. Support the current versions of QuickBooks
2. Note in Extension that only 2017 and 2018 are supported
3. Deprecate QuickBooks data migration support as it is useless today and remove from all marketing materials

I expected to utilize this data migration aid for my QB 2020 Desktop version to BC

Melissa,

Thank you for your suggestion. We will look into the latest version of Quickbooks and see what we need to do to make this work with QB2020.
