Think user tasks are missing a field to address a specific entity. Currently you can only link user tasks to list pages. However tasks might be specific for a customer, a document, etc...; would be valuable to have this extra option to define which customer, vendor, document is linked to the user task.

User tasks are so intertwined with Outlook, Planner, To-Do etc, I'm surprised Microsoft hasn't bothered to link this up!. I went to try and use User Tasks for the first time and got real shock to see that whilst tasks exist, you cannot link them to a specific "thing to be done" (i.e. a sales order, purchase order etc.). The functionality to 'link task to' is there, but only to a report or page (not sure who thought that was a good idea... but ok). To be truely 'useful' tasks need to be linked directly to the record that requires the task (Customer, Vendor, Sales document (any of), Purchase Document, Opportunity etc.) AND put a button or include it directly as an action from these records (i.e. on any sales order, I should be able to go Actions>Create Task and add a task for that sales order etc.).

I agree with this, user tasks would be so much more useful if it could refer to a particular record (i.e. task to contact a customer linked to that customer record). What would make this extremely powerful would be to have a standard 'create user task' option on the ribbon that could pre-populate the page and record id.
