This is actually a really large gap and I am surprised there is not more support for it. In process manufacturers such as food and beverage, chemicals, fiber optics, and life sciences, very often the quantity will not be exactly the same for the substitute because of material ingredient loss or different scrap rates or outputs based on the ingredient/material used. This came up recently at DynamicsCon where almost every client in the room for a manufacturing based session noted this gap. There should be a control or configuration to allow if the quantity of the alternate lines should be the same as the preferred item or if there is another quantity that should be specified.
Yes this is an issue we also encounter.Also the expiration date behavior does not seem consistent throughout the system:I don't want shelf life date expiration date pop-up in my warehouse management app D365FO FSCM when performing any inbounds. The shelf life date for me is not relevant, we only keep the batch number for traceability.I found that to prevent the mobile device from prompting the user for an expiration date, I can fill in the 'shelf life period in days'. When doing so, the pop-up no longer appears during purchase order receipt with mobile device. However, at the same time, when doing an inventory adjustment with the mobile device for a new batch, the pop-up appears.If I however set the 'shelf life period in days' back to '0', then it no longer appears in the menu when doing a 'inventory adjustment', but I get it again during the purchase order receipt with mobile device.
