Custom expense category to be able to use subcategory ledger account and sales tax groupe when "use in project" is set up to yes
Hi All, Currently in Microsoft Dynamics 365 FO, in the expense management module we have the ability to set up expense category to be use in project. This setting allow us to post the expense on project using project ledger account displayed on the expense category when the setting "use in project" is set to yes. Unfortunately, when we use this setting both with a miscellaneous expense type, which allow us to create expense subcategory, ledger account and sales tax groupe set on the subcategory level do not override those already set on the expense category. As a result, users can set up expense category on project with subcategory, hopping to use different ledger account and sales tax on the itemization level but the system will record only one ledger account and sales tax group, those set on the expense category level. To conclude, either Microsoft disable subcategory when "use in project" is set to yes (which drive us to set up one expense category by ledger account / sales tax group combination), either (and this will be the better improvement) they find a way to link subcategory ledger account and sales tax group to the expense report when "use in project" is set to yes. I hope their will be enough people to vote for this improvement to see it in the next release. Regards, -
[Fixed price project invoicing] Lock currency exchange rate for a specific milestone
When using project module to manage customer activity you might need to use fixed price project and invoice your customer by using milestone. In case of business with foreign currency, an exchange rate will be applied on your transaction. Sometimes the rate is fixed by an agreement (e.g for a specific milestone your client might fixed the exchange rate with his own customer at a specific date and post the invoice a couple of day later). In order to do this, we need to have the possibility to fixe the exchange rate at the milestone level (on account transaction screen) and not only in the project contract level which is currently the better way to achieve it. This idea aim to lead Microsoft to enhance the on_account (milestone) project screen in order to be able to lock the exchange rate use for a specific milestone.

D365 Finance] Improving Project Customer Advance
Within the current version of D365 Finance if a user need, within the project module, to ask customer to advance the system displays a form asking the user to provide two information: 1- Customer advance date 2- Funding source 3- Description 4- Advance amount When you work with multiple funding source linked by one or multiple funding rules you must then repeat the operation as many times as needed. And you must do it regarding your funding rule allocation. As an example: If you have a project contract for 100 000$ amount with 2 funding sources (allocated as follow, 40% for A and 60% for B) and you want to ask customers advance for 30% of your project contract. You must ask a first advance for A (12 000$) and a second one for B (18 000$). The second thing is advance deduction. By default, when creating invoice proposal, the system deducted 100% of posted customer advance. If you want to avoid this, you must manually split the advance. if you link these two considerations it may become very hard to manage customer advance on the project level. Accordingly, I propose these improvements: 1-Ask customer advance by funding rules (instead of funding sources). By doing this, if you need to ask an advance for X% of your project contract, you just have to select your funding rule and the system will create as many advance invoice as needed taking into consideration the funding rule allocation. 2- Adding options to the project level (or project group) to deduct customer advance accordingly to the following options: 2.1 Accordingly to the invoice amount / project contracts. E.g if your invoice is 15% of your project contract then the system deduces 15% of customer advance 2.2 (if you use Progress billing rules) Starting advance deduction from a defined percentage of completion. If you define advance deduction starting to 70% of project billing, then the system will start to deduce customer advance as soon as you reach 70 % POC 2.3 Equal to the invoice amount. Thank you for your vote, I hope to see these improvements soon! -
French e-reporting
Simultaneously with French E-Invoicing regulation, French admistration introduce the e-reporting process.
This e-reporting is precisely described here : https://www.impots.gouv.fr/sites/default/files/media/1_metier/2_professionnel/EV/2_gestion/290_facturation_electronique/specification_externes_b2b/version_2-2_du_31_01_2023/spec_facturation_electronique_v2.2_31-01-2023.zip

D365 Finance should propose something to cover this point.
More widely, this e-reporting take part into the VAT at the digital age (VIDA) project lead by European Commission.

Adding bank security / guarantee to manage Deposits & Guarantees in AP / AR
Dynamics 365 Finance should have a feature to properly manage deposits & guarantees in AP/ AR.
The accounting entries of a security deposit or guarantee is done using two separate balance sheet accounts for the amounts paid and the amounts received, a third account may be used in the rare case of amounts paid by personnel. Sub-accounts can be used to specify the nature of these deposits. The system does not have a standard defined function to manage these transactions with third parties such as customers, suppliers, and less frequently, employees.
This feature is important in France but may be highly internalized in other countries.

Hello,
We have troubleshooting whist the DAS2 Report when setting up the SIRET number as a Registration Type rather than directly on the vendor record.
Can we find out a way to make it work with this kind of setup?
