  • Quantity and Per series is not populated in the Production BOM , when you post a additional material on the production order.

    Current Behavior:

    In version 10.0.30

STEP 1: When customer creates a production order and shop floor worker uses additional material than defined in Production BOM and posts the picking list.

STEP 2: Additional material consumed will be added on the Production - BOM , but there is no data populated on quantity and per series fields i.e. additionally consumed in the picking list journal Consumption field.

STEP 3: The problem here is, when the customer tries to use 'Copy BOM' functionality to update the BOM master setup from Production Order.

The 'Quantity' field is empty and 'Per series' field is 0.

Support team checked this requirement in standard environment and informed the behavior is same and this never worked in this way in AX2009 also.

This needs to reported as design change in the product which needs to worked from AX 2009 version.

  • when we are creating new production order route line it is opened in details view instead of grid view.

Issue: While creating new route operation for the production order, it opens in detail’s view instead of Grid view.

Path: Production control > Production orders > All production orders > Route (In the Order details under the Production order Tab)

With the Go to > Grid option: when we are using this and try to create a new line, new line will be created and the system will move on details view.

Expectation: when we create a new route line, it will allow us to create/update on grid view only.

Business process – There might be a case when users require to insert additional operations.

Example: During absence of resource, we need to alter our route operation or assign a new route line to perform the operation.

In this case, when users create a new route line, it will allow users to create/update on grid view only.

    Business Impact

When we have feasibility to add a new line on the Grid-View, system should not switch automatically to the Detailed view which means system is restricting users to add a new operation in the grid view.

  • 'Route ID' field is truncated in some of the D365FO forms when number sequence is maintained with 20 characters.

Our customer are not able to see complete route ID information in 'All routes' detail form, when we setup Route ID number sequence to max i.e. 20 characters.

PATH: Production control > Operations > All routes.

  • 'BOM ID' field is truncated in some of the D365FO forms when number sequence is maintained with 20 characters.

Our customer are not able to see complete BOM ID information in below mentioned forms, when we setup BOM ID number sequence to max i.e. 20 characters.

Path: Product information management > Products >  Released products > Engineer tab > BOM > BOM versions

  • Category/Product image upload using Azure Blob storage - Cannot setup private access to pictures on blob storage.

We are importing category/Product images for which the image is uploaded to a folder in Azure blob storage.

Currently we are unable to setup the Storage account --> Blob container --> Public read access = 'Off' to have private access. instead of "Blob" i.e., Public access and successfully import an image from Azure storage.

If this is the case, if we open a product with an image in D365FO (within the browser somewhere out in the world) it will then be able to connect media URL by private network / endpoint.

Which might raise an alert regarding the image security for the customer.

In my opinion it will be possible for everyone to read the blob data in this container if we change the access level to “Blob (anonymous read access for blobs only)”.

  • Shop floor terminal - Registration entries after switch of approval group not shown anymore

In time and registration module, when we setup approval group for employees.

Manager needs to approve/transfer/calculate manufacturing execution entries for all the shop floor users using shop floor terminal execution.

The issue we have noticed , when approval group is changed on employee master. (Like example from 'ACT-Active' to 'RES-Resigned') we don't see the existing entries previously awaiting for approvals.

We understand from MS support team that its by design. We are waiting for further response on this issue.
