Credit Note to allocate original VAT/TAX on transactions and not current VAT/TAX
This is a rare scenario that would happen only when the local VAT/TAX rate changes and you have an invoice on which there are transactions with both the old and new VAT/TAX posted.
We note on such an invoice if you do a credit note the system will allocate the VAT/TAX based on the current rate in the system (as double checked and confirmed with Microsoft support) instead of allocating whatever the VAT/TAX rate was per transaction..
This enhancement request is to allow system to Credit Note the VAT/TAX at the original amount rather than just defaulting to the current system rate and this can be controlled via some parameter as well so a customer can decide if they wish to use it in this manner or leave it as is currently.
We understand this can be resolved by just posting a correction but if a VAT/TAX changes and you have hundreds of invoices with mixed VAT/TAX rates old/new then this isn't a quick process.
Hopefully other customers will find this useful as well.
