  • Allow to set Regarding to multiple Accounts, Contacts, Leads

We'd like to be able to set the Regarding field to point to multiple clients and/or parties (e.g. attorneys,CPAs) for Appointments. This way it shows up in their record and we know that multiple parties were involved in this Appointment.

Otherwise we'd have to make required or optional parties, which doesn't work since that's more for internal scheduling purposes.

  • For completed or cancelled activities , lock down ability to create Notes

For activities that are marked complete or cancelled, please lock down the ability to create or edit Notes.

Otherwise, create an admin option or setting to lock this down.

  • BUG: Cannot mail merge from tabbed Accounts views containing column Email (Primary Contact)

BUG: Cannot mail merge from tabbed Accounts views containing column Email (Primary Contact)

This is a bug. You cannot letter mail merge from the CRM for Outlook where a tabbed Account view contains the column "Email (Primary Contact)".

A dialog error pops up, but just says an error has occurred. The error report contains this data: "Generic SQL error."

    Repro steps:
    1) Create an Advanced Find view for the Accounts entity that contains the column "Email (Primary Contact)".
    2) Save the view.
    3) Go to CRM for Outlook.
    4) Go to the Accounts entity on the left navigation pane.
    5) Add the Advanced Find view as a tabbed view. Pin it. Verify that the "Email (Primary Contact)" column shows.
    6) Start a letter mail merge by going to the Add tab, then Mail Merge.
    7) In the options under Merge: choose All records on current page or All records on all pages.
    8) Click OK. At this point youll get the error with the option to send the error report to Microsoft. The *.tmp file shows a Generic SQL error.

  • Emails send even when clicking cancel on CRM Activities page in Word

    Issue:

When sending an email via mail merge, emails send out even though you click cancel on the CRM Activities page in Microsoft Word.

    Repro steps:
    1. Go through the email mail merge process until you get to step 4 where you can click 'Electronic Mail' in the mail merge wizard.
    2. Click 'Electronic Mail'.
    3. In the TO line, select what you need, and in the Subject line enter a subject.
    4. When you click OK on this Send Email window, you cannot go back. It will open a CRM Activities page window where you can choose to create CRM activities and add attachments. Whether you click OK or Cancel on this page, it will send out the email.

Desired Result: Being able to click Cancel at the CRM Activities page and have it not send emails.

Someone at Microsoft support said that this is by-design because once you click OK on the Send Email dialog in Word, the email is set to send out. The CRM Activities page pauses the actual send-out until the user decides how theyd like to handle the email as it relates to CRM. The CRM Activities page provides additional functionality that mail merge through Word alone wouldnt provide (e.g. tracking, unsubscribe links, and email attachments).

Why we'd like a design change:
Our clients sometimes accidentally send emails out after changing their mind at the CRM Activities page. Their intuition says the entire email process should stop / cancel when they click Cancel at this dialog page.

  • Easier allow images in Direct E-mail

Please allow us to easily include images in Direct E-mail without any image web hosting tricks or methods. For example, put a button in the ribbon that allows us to include a logo image.

Most emails contain logo images, and so Direct E-mail should easily have this ability.

  • Create quick find feature in IE client Closed Activities pages under Accounts

Create a quick find feature in the IE client Closed Activities pages under Accounts. The Activities page for open items has a "Search for records" box, please add this same box to the Closed Activities page too.

    Thanks!

  • Make email via mail merge from browser client track when sent through Outlook

When starting from a browser client, please make email sent via mail merge to track when sent through Outlook.

If you start in the web client and you send email via mail merge, and it syncs to send through Outlook, the sent emails don't track. If you start in the Outlook client and do the same, it'll track the sent emails.
