  • Task Guide on POS should retain the last guide when click to close dialog is pressed

    Task guides can be maintained in LCS and accessed by using the Help (?) icon on the POS. While this is helpful to display simple process steps for the POS operator, if they need to navigate within the POS, they are forced to close the task guide overlay by using the Click to close dialog option.

    This needs to be changed so that if the Help icon is pressed again it shows the details of the last task guide that was displayed.

  • Auto charges for Retail Channels needs to cater for Public holiday surcharge

    A common scenario when retail POS is used for quick service restaurant (QSR) operations is to apply a public holiday surcharge. While Auto charges functionality appears to allow for this to be defined by Item group and even by Retail channel, there doesn’t seem to be any type of date control.

    This is clearly a deficiency in using the Retail POS for this type of business who would expect to be able to;

    1. Define the Retail Channel(s)
    2. Define the Item Group(s)
    3. Define the Lines by specifying the rate (usually Percent), GST group and the Date that the charge is applicable for

    The Retail POS functionality should calculate the applicable charge only on the Date specified in addition to the normal trade agreement & retail discount calculations. The description of the charge code should be displayed to explain the amount calculated as a separate line on the transaction receipt.

  • Top Discounts Report

    Navigation path > Retail and Commerce > Inquiries and reports > sales reports > Top discounts report

    The standard top discounts report is misleading to the user.

    In the report there is a Discount ID and Discount Name, the user assumes based off those identifiers that you are referring to that specific discount, so when they look at the quantity column they believe that the quantity column reflects the number of times that said discount has been used.

    However, in actual fact the quantity column refers to the sales quantity.

  • Have tighter control on over delivery setup on the item, i.e. by item by vendor.

    In retail, there are several cases where the vendor may invoice a customer for an inventory item with a quantity higher than the original Purchase Order (PO) and/or Product Receipt. E.g. PO was raised for an inventory item quantity of 10, Product Receipt was completed for that item for a quantity of 10 (many large operational issues can contribute to this) and when the invoice comes from the vendor the quantity for the item is 12.

    There are other matching policy options in Accounts Payable setup, including the ability to have a matching override (which is vendor specific). However, even with a matching policy override by vendor, the system still requires over delivery to be configured and the over delivery percentage set on the item. The issue here is that an item can have many approved vendors. So even if the override matching policy is vendor specific, to get that to work your customers need to open the door to over delivery on the item, which in most cases means we lose further receipting control.
