    Index optimize task

Suggested by Martinus Janssen New  0 Comments

In the current Index optimize Job is it possible to modify only four settings: - DTU Threshold - Duration (maximum) - Index Quantity (maximum) - Online / Offline index rebuild Especially short after a Go-Live but not restricted to this moment do we notice huge quantities of heavy fragmented indexes. This is not a situation we would like to see, they are caused by mainly three fixed parameters. There is first a index usage threshold of 10.000 (formula unknown) together with a threshold of 50 % fragmentation level combined with a page count Level of 100 and a usage The second is a threshold of 25 % fragmentation combined with a page count Level of 200. Incase a certain database growth is not established or when cleaning/archiving is done frequent does this lead to unexpected high fragmenation levels. Many customers / database administrators and technical consultants would benefit from a small change. This would be the addition of three additional parameters. - Manual override of the usage threshold of 10.000 (checkbox) - Add a new parameter 'page count level', field type integer and I advice a value between 5 and 200 - Add a new parameter 'fragmentation level', field type integer and I advice a value between 10 and 99 Thank you very much for your attention, it will make customers happy around the Globe! Quick View - Name Field Clickable (Like Legacy)

Suggested by Brett Saunders New  0 Comments

In the legacy quick view forms the name field was a link to the other entity. In UCI it is no longer clickable. It was a really nice way to navigate from a Quick View Form on another entity back to the primary entity the Quick View Form was referencing.

Nested Form Elements - PowerApps Model-Driven Apps

Suggested by Dave Null New  0 Comments

Frequently it would be helpful to be able to display forms within model-driven apps either as a grid/table or by using nested form elements. Having the option to align fields to a grid sometimes gives a more user-friendly look. Other times it would be helpful to nest a two-column section inside a column of another section. For example, if I want to show multiple subtasks within a parent task, being able to nest them inside other elements would make a far more intuitive UI, and could allow for business logic to mark the parent task complete when the subtasks are completed. Perhaps capping it at one nested level would add functionality/UX to the forms without creating excess levels of complexity?

Solution Import - Ribbon button drop-down in Parent Solution removes changes made in Child Solution

Suggested by Timothy Halse New  0 Comments

Importing new solution version without any changes to the ribbon button and maintaining customisations is acting like overwriting customisation in regards to the ribbon button existing customisations. This should only happen when you overwrite customisations and not when you maintain customisations, as it overwriting button customisation in a parent solution when you import a child solution. This is causing to have to import every solution each time there is an update in one of the solutions. Please see case number: 120021824000177

Fix html attributes of lookup controls on card pages.

Suggested by Ioana Nicu - Gherghinescu New  0 Comments

The inline lookups (the ones that open the table on the same page, under the textbox) have an "aria-expanded" attribute that behaves different on card pages vs tables. On card pages that attribute gets stuck on true after opening the lookup the first time. I would expect this attribute to return to 'false' once the lookup table is no longer visible (this is the behavior on tables). This is not really an idea, so please point me in the right direction if I should report this somewhere else.

    Security role depending views

Suggested by Stefan Faust New  0 Comments

Different user roles require within one system different different System views and data to be seen. Today a System view can not be set up differently per user role (e.g. Sales rep, Sales Manager, Service rep, …) or division or Country within an organization. Similar like forms it should be possible to assign views to security role(s) and to provide appropriate experience to user. (valid for all Dynamcs Engagement Solutions)

    Record Types

Suggested by Stefan Faust New  0 Comments

One of e.g. Salesforce's (or other software products) strength is the possibility to specify within an entity different "record types", to cover within one system different business processes. Having different business processes allows to implement a software within multi-divisional or -country organizations. From my point of view this is one major reason why Dynamics cannot be really considered in many large enterprises projects! A record type could specify e.g. 1. Form Layout 2. Security role(s) 3. Option set values 4. Settings to influence the business process 5. Workflows and rules 6. Business process flows A record type could be * in account e.g. "Wholesaler", "Direct Customer", "Indirect Customer", … having different processes how to maintain and what to maintain, who can maintain. Furthermore quite often such types specify, where to use such an account type. E.g. you would not create a Quotation to an indirect customer, but to direct customer only. * Quote Types with different Layouts, fields, conditions, approval processes, considered stakeholeders, ... * Opportunity types for different purposes like multi- or single-country or single-or multi-year opportunities, ...

    Make Report DataSet Available

Suggested by Gijs Franssens New  0 Comments

Hi, Is it possible to add an option to view the dataset of a report? A lot of consultants and end users use Word layouts to customize their own reports. This option was available in previous versions of Dynamics NAV as a hidden feature in the layout preview of a report and was extremely helpful. Thank you! Kind regards,
