Customers and partners have been asking for all table fields to be available on all pages to add without customization vie personalize (or in on premise Show Columns) for at last 15 years now, Can you please make all related table fields available to users to be added via personalize vs having to create an extension to add existing stock fields to pages. This way customers can add fields they need without having to pay a partner to write and add an extension to add fields to pages.

Status Details

  • This is IMHO a dangerous idea! As a developer I would like that we can decided which fields the users should be able to see and hereby prevent them from "messing up their pages" with fields that either do nothing in their setup or have been "replaced" by other extension fields. So if you plan to implement this idea, then at least make it possible to turn this feature off for all or some users.
  • I agree above this is a DANGEROUS idea as users would add fields they are not allowed to see etc Besides, if you work in a MS partner, you can invoice the customer for adding fields :=)
  • This is a very bad idea indeed - I completely agree with Erik P. Ernst on this: as solution developers we need to be able to control that only relevant content is available to the user rather than just throwing everything at her/him including internal calculations, buffer values, record references, settings, and what-have-you.
  • Please implement this - at least make it possible to add fields by administrator. So many missing fields that should be possible to add- which is extremely frustrating.

  • Generally I like the idea, but should restrikted vie permissions.

Maybe we can get a flag in record fields to set "Personalization Disabled" for internal fields or fields who should never be visible by users.

  • This feature is really needed.

As a work around, we had to spend a good amount of time and money with our VAR to bring some of the needed fields via designer and then integrate them in with a single extension since each design created its own extension which was not manageable.
