"Combine a group of fields" detailed here : https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customer-insights/data/data-unification-merge-tables

Currently when you combine address fields into a group it still leaves the original fields in the unification output (the customer profile table).

This can be confusing as you end up with 2 addressline1, 2 addressline2 etc, one that isn't combine and one that is.

Please can the original field either allowed to be excluded or hidden from the result of the unification if the fields are used in a combined group.

  • Hi Matthew,

Good suggestion. We're going to address this but approach it a little differently. We're going to release an update to segmentation and measures where the admin can choose that tables and fields should be shown to in the segmentation UX.

This will allow you to also remove system columns (owner, etc...) unique columns that you would never filter on (GUIDs, primary keys, etc...) and also hide entire tables that today are shown in the picker.

In a typical instance, this could result in going from several thousand options marketing contributors have to look at, down to a much smaller more manageable number. Expect to see this capability added to the release plans soon and available early next year.
