Future featuring the option from sales and marketing default parameters-settings to enforced delivery date as of fixed today's date maybe optimum for the purpose to prevent users to back post dates delivery dates.
Not featuring the option to set a parameter default to post customer packing slips for delivery dates on today's date, user may have the option to back post delivery dates previous dates from today or future dates.
