Transfer Orders in D 365 SCM do not support freight / charges on transfer order lines. This is crucial for many businesses, such as food, cement, consumer durables, manufacturing, etc. as they have a huge volume of stock transfers, wherein the freight cost is quite substantial and needs to be considered as a part of the overall item cost. The freight liability booking is very important for these companies at the time stock transfer transactions and creating liability of freight cost and also important for receiving location to load freight cost on the item cost.
Some key points:
- If Shipment and receiving locations are profit center/cost center than freight charges liability needs to be correctly created and considered as a part of item cost at the receiving location
- For many customers, freight is always a part of the assessable value for tax calculation.
Some customer using AX2012 R3 were using TMS module for handling freight. However, they had to remove TMS because of performance issues.
To address the above problems, D 365 SCM, needs to allow handling of freight in the Transfer Orders. This is seen as a business blocker by many customers across the globe.

Hi, This is a must requirement for us as many of the consignments which we have to ship are having more than 20-25% of the total value of the consignments because we have to ship the consignments in cold-chain transportation. This cost varies as we have to ship to multiple states. But due to lack of facilities to load the cost on items, we have to do manual valuation of stock and could not be able to add margins based on the landed cost of the products properly. It has to be there and considered.
-
This is very much require to calculate over all cost on the respective items.
-
Every freight on stock transfer is not part of inventory cost. When the material is first moved from the plants to warehouses, it may be considered as part of item cost but subsequent freight on transfers between warehouses or return to plant are not part of item cost. It would be quite useful if this functionality is given but with that the choice should be there to make it a part of item cost or move it to some separate GL.

This is very critical requirement for business.

This updation is very helpful to us
-
awaited from long time its help in cost valuation
-
To avoid manual calculations to realize exact margin, it is important to know the landed cost based on such freight costs that needs to be added though not at every transfer level. It should have configurational level parameters
-
Great Feature, should be enabled for the product.
