Adding Freight to Stock Transfers

Transfer Orders in D 365 SCM do not support freight / charges on transfer order lines. This is crucial for many businesses, such as food, cement, consumer durables, manufacturing, etc. as they have a huge volume of stock transfers, wherein the freight cost is quite substantial and needs to be considered as a part of the overall item cost. The freight liability booking is very important for these companies at the time stock transfer transactions and creating liability of freight cost and also important for receiving location to load freight cost on the item cost. Some key points: - If Shipment and receiving locations are profit center/cost center than freight charges liability needs to be correctly created and considered as a part of item cost at the receiving location - For many customers, freight is always a part of the assessable value for tax calculation. Some customer using AX2012 R3 were using TMS module for handling freight. However, they had to remove TMS because of performance issues. To address the above problems, D 365 SCM, needs to allow handling of freight in the Transfer Orders. This is seen as a business blocker by many customers across the globe.
