Currently a flow can be triggered from a change in an entity in Dataverse using the action "When a row is added, modified or deleted". But if the entity is virtual this does not work ("Virtual entities are not supported."). It should be possible to trigger a flow with a change in a virtual entity.

  • The idea is also in Power Apps ideas: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Power-Apps-Ideas/Allow-virtual-entity-as-trigger-for-flow/idi-p/1234623#M34322
  • Clients very often ask for flows sending notifications about new records or changes in an entity. It would be great to be able to leverage power automate to achieve this data that is only accessible via virtual entities as well.
  • Having this feature in the future will next step to providing diff levels of solutions.

In some cases, we can't use dual write for the real-time data transfer purpose, or may dual write not support the table mapping at that time. if I get any trigger from the F&O entity using a virtual entity will help to fulfill the requirements.
