The PSTL (Customer & Vendor) Combiner tools install SQL Triggers at the Company and Dynamics DB Levels. These Triggers should be enabled when used, and disabled when finished. Leaving them active can cause SQL blocking in active GP installations, especially if eConnect data feeds are in use.
The Letter Writing Assistant is an awesome way to create letters for Customers, Vendors and Employees. Unfortunately, it only allows for printing of letters in bulk when using SmartList to generate. It would be awesome if the option to Email could be used via SmartList and the Letter Writing Assistant Wizard.
Navigation Lists are a great way to manage master records and transactions. When Business Analyzer (part of the SQL Reports setup) are enabled, users will receive an error when loading if they are not setup correctly in SQL. Business Analyzer also significantly slows down the loading of the Navigation List windows. Currently, companies/partners need to run the following scripts to disable. Please make these default to not show. If someone wants to turn them on, they can do this manually.
Here are the scripts:
Step 1 Remove it from existing NAV lists:
update DYNAMICS..SY07225 set FactBoxVisible = 0
Step 2 – Remove from future ‘save as’ navigation lists:
dbo.Update_SY07225_FactBoxVisible ON dbo.SY07225 AFTER INSERT
Update SY07225 SET FactBoxVisible = 0
Navigation Lists include options for bulk actions. Currently the columns available are very limited. Please increase Navigation List to use the columns available via the similar SmartList (Customers, Vendors, Items, etc.). For example: Currently Navigation Lists do not include the Class ID for master records and the Batch ID for transactions. These 2 fields are very important for searches and transactions.
When performing SBA calls against exposed Dex procedures, if the operation takes longer than 10 minutes the BackgrounInstructions stops and throws an InternalRequestError. The operation does seem to finish but throws an error. It would be nice to change the program so we have a longer time out than 10 min. Workaround is to break up the SBA operation to stay under the 10 min time out.
Integration Manager has long been limited to support only certain fields for certain eConnect Destination Adapters.
1. Can we get all eConnect Destination Adapters to begin with
2. Can you expose all the fields for each destination to be able to map everything possible.
.NET interop is a great addition to Dexterity. However, could you enable calls to async methods? I envision this being similar to a background procedure or a timed event, but initiated by the Dex runtime as opposed to an explicit developer call. The developer only needs to call a dex procedure in the background, in turn that background proc can have all the calls to some .NET async method, but this would offload the call and response retrieval to the runtime engine.
begingroup "SomeAsyncGroup" notify "SomeForegroundProcedure" assign to SomeDotNetGroupId;
call background someDexProcWithACallToSomeNetAsyncMethod;
Is it possible to get Dexterity native support for TFS 2017/2018/Azure DevOps through Visual Studio 2017? The existing providers are rather outdated and require running really old versions of Visual Studio just to get this to work. Would you consider simply using the TFS and Azure DevOps web services to do Source Code Control rather than using the Visual Studio wrappers you've created? Also, can you retro fit this all the way back to Dex 12? I know, I know, I am asking for too much as it is.
Allow users to manage Timesheet and Expense documents with attachment/receipt support using mobile devices.
There are several 3rd party solutions that do this same thing, but it would be great to have a Microsoft supported solution.
