Currently, you can add custom fields for existing Activities (Emails, Tasks, Appts, etc) as well as custom Activities. However, the issue is that you cannot currently define custom fields that would span all Activity types such that they are visible in the "Activities" views.
This is a problem for consolidated view "special" filtering at the Activities level.
For example, if I want to define Activities associated with a Team (such that all users who are members of that Team can see them by default), I'd like to be able to define a "Related Team" custom field that would be available on all current entities as well as any future custom entities I might add. Assigning the Owner to be the Team creates issues for specific Activity management. So if the Owner of a Task is the Team, for example, a user with delete capability at the user level won't be able to delete the Task (even though they may have created it). So while I can use the Team as the Owner to create "team views" across Activity types, this creates a limitation on the ability for those users to delete the same activities.
This is just one example of where it would be nice to have a place to define custom fields that span all Activity types and are available for general Activity views.
(Note: This enhancement suggestion is related to another I recently posted on Connect regarding Category/Subcategory for Activities).
There's [Parent Account] field on Account's record.
On Activity feed of record which is set as Parent Account,
[POSTS] and [ACTIVITIES] show up including Child Accounts.
Sometimes too many information make users confused.
This behavior is not desirable for all users.
It would be much better to filter which [POSTS] and [ACTIVITIES] are shown on Activity feed of Parent Account's record.
When we run the report for Emails activity. You will notice that the "Description Column" displays HTML content instead of the Actual Text.
Create an email activity in CRM, with some content on the body of that email.
Now, create a report from report wizard with the filter criteria that will fetch that email in the report.
Ensure that the column "Description" is added on the reports.
Run the report we will getting the description column with HTML content instead of actual text.
In CRM 2011 when we create an email template we first have to select an email template type. Basically we are picking an entity. While creating this email template we have a button to Insert/Update a data field. We are restricted to only those data fields which are in this selected entity and its related system entities like account, contact, etc.
On many occasions I need to build an email template on custom entities. When I create an email template, I should be given an option of all the entities (including custom entities) for selection. While adding data fields I should be able to select fields from that custom entity and any of its related custom entities.
So basically I should be able to use the, out of the box, easy to create Email Templates functionality for custom entities.
Register [Phone Call] on [Activities], reopen the registered record, [Status] is [Completed], and the record cannot be editable.
[Status] can be changed from [Workflow], but it needs to be changed from [Activities] by default.
It would be user-friendly if [Status] is editable from [Activities].
Ability to display appointment records on a form of contacts with/without regarding and customize [Activities] view
Registered several contacts to [required] on a appointment record.
Insert a subgrid field to retrieve the appointment record on a form of each contact user.
Even though the registered appointment record is displayed on [Activities] of the navigation bar, it is displayed only on the form of the user with setting regarding.
It would be much better if the registered appointment record is displayed on all forms of registered contacts.
In addition, it would be user-friendly if activities view was customizable to display appointment record on any contact forms.
Currently, there is no way to secure the Survey Activity - once VOC is installed, all users with access to Activities overall will see the Survey Activity in the list of activities (same as email, etc.). For users who are not to send surveys, this needs to be suppressed.
Warning on email activities-"The email below might contain scripts or content that is potentially harmful and has been blocked"
Most of the email activities contains a warning says--"The email below might contain scripts or content that is potentially harmful and has been blocked".
Customer need a workaround by which they will be able to disable the notification for the organization as the users get confused why they are getting this notification for emails and they considered this as an issue in CRM or with an email content.
Font in Email templates is a nightmare for users.
When you insert a email template we see that the spacing is an issue and sometime the font becomes bold.
This is after upgrading from CRM 4 to CRM 2011.
