Hi,
In services industry we often need to manage vendor as resources because our line of business is to deliver to our customer a project management service and not directly services or work that are the main purpose of the project.
Currently we have no way to schedule vendor activity directly from the project WBS. The idea is the following:
1. Add an assign vendor to project (as an assign resource or category to project)
2. Assign a business capacity on the vendor list page in monetary unit
3. In the WBS
• Add a column in the WBS to assign a vendor to item activities
• Modify item task to be able to add a start and an end date
4. Add a column in the item forecast to get back the vendor information from the WBS if the user use “transfer forecast form wbs” functionality
5. Let the user modify the item forecast to change the vendor if necessary
6. Create a function to launch purchase order from the item forecast grouped by vendor
7. Enhance the tracking view screen to be able to better track vendor activity
8. Create workload tracking screen on the account payable module to track if a vendor exceeds his business capacity.
