There are two main issues with how tax is handled by the Shopify Connector, which causes the tax to be incorrect in Business Central:


  1. Business Central has mappings between States and Tax Area Codes on the Shopify Customer Templates. This is insufficient as there are multiple jurisdictions with different tax rates within a given state.
  2. In Shopify there are two main channels - Online and Point of Sale (POS). In Business Central, tax on all orders is based on the customer's address. This is correct handling for online sales. This is incorrect for POS sales. POS sales should always be based on the physical location of the Point of Sale, not the customer address.


Please fix this, as having correct taxes is a legal requirement and not a "nice to have" feature.
