Hello,
There is a huge functional regression between CRM2011 and CRM2013, very well described here: http://crmtipoftheday.com/2015/02/09/qualify-lead-crm-2011-vs-crm-2015/

This is an issue in our current way of working: Leads are created during shows, and are then converted to either new accounts or new opportunities, depending on maturity.

When our sales managers want to qualify a lead to a new account or contact, they face this dilemma:
- either they disqualify the lead and recreate manually the new entity: a loss of time, and we cannot track anymore the success rate of the different shows or campaigns
- either they qualify it, thus generating an opportunity and a contact, but then they have to mark their opportunity as lost (they cannot delete it). Which is also not satisfying.

I understand the shift towards the no-popup ergonomics and all, but this should not be at the price of losing such a feature.
What's your proposal to work around this issue ?

The ability to take a lead and convert it to an Account and Contact (and not an opportunity) is used for many different needs. It is great for small runs of data migration for instance and for data cleansing and cleanup. Additionally you can qualify a lead and not be ready to track an opportunity. I agree that this feature should be put back into the system and have voted for such. Anne Stanton
