The automatic Cost Adjustment uses the Posting Date from the General Ledger Setup field "Allow Posting from" instead of the User Setup field "Allow Posting from".
What is the case?
User Setup = Allow Posting from: 01.01.2020, Allow Posting to: 31.12.2021
General Ledger Setup = Allow Posting from: 01.04.2021, Allow Posting to: 30.04.2021
The Item has an inventory quantity at the date 31.12.2020 and there are also postings (Sales Orders/Invoices, Purchase Orders/Invoices) on that Item in the Date Range from 01.01.2021 to 31.03.2021.
If you now take a revaluation journal and post a different Amount for an item with the Posting Date 31.12.2020 the first value Entry will be posted to the 31.12.2020 BUT all other entries after the Posting Date 31.12.2020 that will be touched from the automatic cost adjustment will be posted to the Posting Date 01.04.2020.
In my and our customer opinion the User Setup should win because the User is allowed to post at 31.12.2020
