Current system functionality to allocate a period for the demand forecast lines is a manual process where users select at line level the Allocate forecast option to specify the period key.
This option will enable the forecast to be spread across the month as required and with the granularity as desired to meet the needs and requirements of the business.
Using this functionality will alleviate the issue where a monthly forecast published in the first day of the month gets ignored when the published date is passed even though there is still a full month of trading.
Issue we are facing is the process to load / create this record is a manual process requiring to be completed at line level.
The request / recommendation would be to improve this functionally and enable a process to bulk load the period key against the demand forecast lines as required. Given most customers could have a significant amount of demand forecast line it would be beneficial for all and make their lives better if a bulk process to load is available.

Here’s the revised version with your intent reflected:Thank you for the response and for confirming the current position.Given this gap in standard functionality, we have implemented custom batch jobs internally to support the process:- Forecast allocation: bulk allocation of period keys to forecast lines- Date correction: moving forecast lines out of closed periodsThis approach has worked well for us, however other customers may also find value in a standard solution. The current process still relies on manual, line-level updates, which can be challenging to manage at scale.A standard, scalable capability for bulk period key allocation and forecast date correction would reduce manual effort and avoid customers needing to create and maintain custom development for this scenario. I would still see value in Microsoft reconsidering this for Supply Planning in a future release.Thanks.

Appreciate you taking the time to feedback. We however do not have any plans to provide this support for Supply Planning.
