Released products with variants exist with a default order setting for sales lead time with Rank 0 for the Master dimension.
Further lead times exist in ranks for combinations of dimensions and some with no lead time.

A sales order is created for the item and the requested ship date is automatically completed according to settings. Dimensions are added and the requested ship date changes due to the different settings. If a dimension is entered with a rank that has a shorter date than the default rank, the date does not switch back if another dimension is selected.

This is a clear bug and requires correction sooner than later.

As stated by Andreas Hölzl in the other comments: The issue is related to Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.
We, the customer Masterflex, have experienced this issue for more than one year now since our Go-Live on January 1st 2019.

Our issues with this situation as a customer are as follows:

1. This issue causes ongoing problems for our daily operations. We have made our own adjustments with our partner, which has improved the situation, but the situation is not good.

2. We do not understand why this issue is not fixed. There is not even a expected date or plan for a fix. More than one year and nothing happens. Can someone help us understand this?

3. There is time for Microsoft to add tons of new features (yes, we like some otf those, thank you), but there seems to be no time (nothing has happened in the last twelve months) to correct a clear bug. Can someone help us understand this?

Such situations weaken our trust in Microsoft's ability to correct bugs. We are unhappy with the situation, because it has a negative impact on our relationship with Microsoft as a overall very trusted partner.

Best regards, Thomas Kämpf
