I do not understand why selecting an OptionSet would cause the matchcode length to spike 256 characters. This limitation only allows one OptionSet to be chosen for duplicate detection.

An OptionSet contains Values and Labels. A Value is an Integer and the default value for Customizations starts at 100000000. That is 9 characters in length. Converting a value to a string would add a length of 10 characters and if necessary could be defaulted to 16 characters, which is still well below 256 characters.

Choosing to use the Label seems incorrect since Labels can have duplicate values. But even if that were the case, then shouldn't we be able to choose the "Same First Characters" or "Same Last Characters" similar to text fields?

Please update CRM so that Option Sets more efficiently use Characters when being added to a Duplicate Detection Rule.
