Current discrepancies in multi-line postings can lead to financial inaccuracies where the summed behaviour of multiple postings does not match the intended transactions as if they had been entered on a single, balanced line or by standard way if invoices posted in Business Central. This mainly affects the calculation procedure for Sales/Purchase [LCY] field (depending on VAT Amount!), Source Type and Source No. in G/L Entries and in general also the posting order [Account Type-related].
Direct Code Modifications:
Modify the calculation logic for "Sales/Purchase (LCY)" to ensure accuracy, irrespective of VAT presence.
Ensure G/L entries derive their Source Type and No. from the corresponding Balancing Accounts to maintain consistency.
Modify the system to ensure that the posting order is irrelevant.
Recalculation Trigger: Implement a recalculation trigger within the posting logic to reassess the total impact of all entries before finalization, guaranteeing a balanced outcome across all lines.
Copilot Usage: Leverage AI tools like Copilot in environments with complex tax regulations and diverse accounting requirements. Copilot can assist in dynamically generating accurate Sales/Purchase [LCY] values in multi-line postings, ensuring compliance and precision.
This proposal draws on insights from past engagements with Microsoft Support (cases #2404230050002788 and #2312190050003528).
