In Microsoft Dataverse subgrids, the Activate and Deactivate commands are currently displayed regardless of the selected records’ state, with validation occurring only when the action is executed. While this behavior is by design, it can cause user confusion, especially when inactive records are selected and the Deactivate command remains visible.
This idea proposes enhancing subgrid command behavior so that Activate and Deactivate buttons dynamically reflect the state of the selected records (including single‑select and multi‑select scenarios). For example, hiding or disabling the Deactivate command when all selected records are already inactive would improve clarity, reduce accidental clicks, and align user expectations with record state, without changing underlying platform logic.
This enhancement would improve usability and reduce support inquiries while preserving current backend behavior.
