Finished good should be able to tag to multiple routes with different resource capacities so that cost and time can be saved during production.

For one of my client, I am looking for a process of multiple routes with same finished good. So scheduling should happen as described below: can you suggest me how master planning schedules this ?

Product A can be made with different process as a finished good with Route R1, R2, R3 , R4. For this different Routes R1, R2, R3, R4.We have different machine gets tagged like M1, M2, M3, M4. 

If we have Product A defined in this way, practically what users does is as per demand if raw material exists, Product A can be parallelly used with R1, R2, R3 , R4.where as in D365FO we have a limitation to activate one route to one Finished good.

Due to this limitation, if we activate Product A with Route R1 it schedules only R1 all the time.

Example is as follows for a sales order/demand qty of 50 qty with 8 hrs of production hrs without no on hand inventory of item: 

1. Product A can be manufactured with there respective routes as follows:

  Route R1 with Machine 1 can make 1 Product of A in 0.5 hrs (30 mins)

  Route R2 with Machine 2 can make 1 Product of A in 0.6 hrs (36 mins)

  Route R3 with Machine 3 can make 1 Product of A in 0.4 hrs (24 mins).

If we have Master planning run, D365fo considers only product A with R1 scheduling for 100 hrs (8.5 days from sales order date).

Practically client doesn't do in this way, as he has 3 different process to execute with different capacities and routes he execute the best way possible and he could fulfill demand only in 3 days instead of 8.5 days.
