There are many international companies using the W1 version of Business Central who are required to comply with SAF-T regulations in their respective countries. While traces of SAF-T functionality exist in version 26, the current implementation is incomplete and cannot be used for full compliance.
Microsoft’s current approach requires customers to use localized versions to access SAF-T features, which can be costly and operationally complex—especially for companies managing multiple entities in a single environment.
We propose that Microsoft:
- Fully implement SAF-T functionality in the W1 version of Business Central.
- Ensure that the SAF-T export meets the regulatory requirements of countries where SAF-T is mandatory.
- Provide configuration options to adapt the SAF-T structure to different jurisdictions without requiring separate localized environments.
