This came up following a bug in CRM 2016 SP1, where we're not able to add any detail through the related navigation at this point :-(
Adding details through the grid on the salesorder form, by clicking the + button, does not take into account the relationship mappings.
This in contradiction to adding details through the related navigation on a salesorder.
This should be by design, since this functionalilty should work in both ways.

Repro Steps on CRM 2015 and CRM 2016
Create a new Order and fill in the Shipping Address.
On the Products sub grid, add Product. The Order Product will not have the Shipping Address populated as expected per the default relationship Mappings.
In CRM 2015, if the Product is added to the Order from the Products related section, the Shipping Address is populated correctly on the Order Product.
