Our client is a Pharmaceutical manufacturer that outsources all their packaging to CMOs. We use production orders with a service item and a raw material for this purpose. Currently we are using built-in master planning with an exception, but we are hoping to switch over to planning optimization at some point.

However, we are currently using the freeze time fence to prevent any planned orders to be placed or scheduled within the CMO agreed freeze time fence (time fence, where the CMO does not accept any new orders). Unfortunately it still seems like the freeze time fence is not supported in planning optimization.

It would be great to see support for it going forward, as I can imagine that also other companies have a time frames where their order books (or their CMOs) do not allow new orders.
