Following records is a great functionality for Sales (related) persons. It is easy to start following 1 record at a time, if you want to select multiple records to Follow it is possible but only if you have Bulk Edit permission. But then you have Bulk Edit for most other record types/entities and this is not what you want as users can mess up data without knowing.
solution: allow with Follow to select multiple records without Bulk Edit permission
