Currently, when posting a Sales Credit Memo with Lot Tracking, the system restores Outstanding Quantity and Qty. to Ship on the original Sales Order. However, when Lot Tracking is not used, this behavior does not occur.

We understand that different customers have different business requirements. Some prefer the current behavior, while others expect the Sales Order to remain fully shipped after a Sales Credit Memo is posted.

We would like Microsoft to introduce a Setup option that allows administrators to choose the desired behavior, for example:

  • Enable: Restore Outstanding Quantity and Qty. to Ship on the original Sales Order (current behavior).
  • Disable: Keep the Sales Order fully shipped and do not restore Outstanding Quantity or Qty. to Ship.

Providing this as a configurable setup would allow customers to select the behavior that best fits their business processes without changing the current default behavior for existing users.
