Description:

Currently, Dynamics 365 only supports a single owner per lead, which limits collaboration in sales teams. While Access Teams and record sharing provide partial solutions, they do not allow the lead to appear in both users’ standard “My Leads” view or reporting as if they both own it.

Business Need:

  • In many B2B sales scenarios, two or more sales representatives work together on the same lead.
  • Both need full visibility and accountability in their personal lead views and dashboards.
  • Current workarounds (Access Teams, sharing, Owner Teams) do not meet this need because:
  • Access Teams do not make the lead appear in “My Leads.”
  • Owner Teams remove individual ownership visibility.
  • Sharing is manual and does not integrate with reporting.

Requested Feature:

  • Enable multiple owners for a lead (and optionally other records like opportunities).
  • Each owner should see the lead in their standard “My Leads” view.
  • Reporting should support multiple owners without breaking existing security models.

Benefits:

  • Improves collaboration between sales reps.
  • Reduces manual workarounds.
  • Aligns with real-world team selling processes.
