Currently, on Projects in Business Central, you do not have the ability to create a "Project GL Journal" directly from the project. You do not add these lines to the project planning lines on the project, rather you need to create the Project GL Journal manually and post the journal to post these entries to both the Project ledger Entries and the General Ledger Entries. 

Additionally if you do happen to add these lines to the Project planning lines, it does allow you to send them to the Project journal and post them. However, the issue here is that it posts only to the Project Ledger Entries but never touches the GLs, and then the line is marked as posted and nothing further can be done with it.

 

Ideally, the below 2 features would improve the user experience for clients that may not transact in Resources or items, but rather budget and post directly to GL accounts

 1. Lines with type G/L Account should not be able to be sent to Project journals, this would prevent GL account type lines from being posted to project ledger entries but never impacting the GL

 2. Have a second button that allows users to send line with type of GL Account to the "Project GL Journals" (Create Project GL Journal) directly from the Project itself. This would allow for budgeting against GLs with the option to post GL account type lines to both the GL and Project Ledger Entries seamlessly
