Dear Business Central Community,

We would like to request several feature enhancements and clarifications regarding Sales Budgets and the Sales Analysis Report (Report 7117) in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Our request is based on limitations we've encountered compared to G/L Budgets and needs from our end users.

We'll be grateful if you check our plan below and support it with your vote if you like it.

1. Sales Budget: Missing Functionalities Compared to G/L Budgets

We’ve noticed that Sales Budgets lack several key features available in G/L Budgets. Specifically, we would like to request the following enhancements:

A. Copy Sales Budget Functionality

  • Ability to copy an existing Sales Budget to a new one, similar to G/L Budgets (as you can see in the 1st attachment).
  • Support for filtering entries by:
  • Item
  • Date
  • Support for adjustment fields:
  • Adjustment Factor
  • Rounding Method
  • Date Change Formula
  • Date Compression

B. Define Source Data When Copying Budgets

  • Option to select the source for the new Sales Budget:
  • Another Sales Budget
  • Item Ledger Entries
  • Ability to specify what should be copied:
  • Quantity
  • Sales Amount
  • Purchase Costs
  • Or any combination of these

C. Improvements to Excel Export from Sales Budgets

  • Allow exporting and editing Customer column in Excel (Sales Budget by Item + Customer + Date).
  • Include Dimension fields in the export (as already available in G/L Budgets).

2. Sales Analysis Report (Page 7117) Improvements

A. Add Filter Fields to the Report Page

  • Currently, standard filters like “Item Budget Filter”, “Location Filter”, or “Date Filter” are not exposed on the Sales Analysis Report card page. We request that these be added for better usability (as you can see in the 2nd attachment).

B. Display Amounts in Additional Reporting Currency

  • Please add a Boolean field “Show Amounts in Additional Reporting Currency” to the report setup (as you can see in the 2nd attachment).
  • If enabled, amounts are shown in ACY; if disabled, in LCY.
  • No recalculation of budget amounts is needed - users are aware of the currency in which the budget is filled.

3. Unshipped/Uninvoiced Order Analysis

We would like to know if it is currently possible to configure a column in the Sales Analysis Report that would show:

  • Amount and Quantity on open order lines (i.e., not yet shipped or invoiced).

If not currently supported, we would like to request this feature to be added as a column option in the report setup. This would allow our users to compare actual invoiced values against open sales orders and budgeted amounts.
