The Blocked field on the Lot No. Information card currently controls whether the entire lot is blocked from all transactions (item journal, sales transactions, pick creation, internal bin movements, internal transfer orders and adjustments). This is a broad category that limits the usefulness of the field.

My clients in the food industry often want to block a particular lot number that has been produced, while the production output is being inspected by quality assurance. Once inspection is cleared, the lot is unblocked and made available for sales.

I suggest we create several options to more minutely control what is allowed when a Lot No. Information Card is blocked, so a lot number can be transferred around the warehouse internally (either bin movements or location movements), but is restricted from being suggested on inventory/warehouse picks.
