It will be a great idea to provide an extension in POS SDK for Manager privilege which can be invoked from code in case of business requirement.

One option to do this: Create a dummy custom operation and in HQ configure that operation to require manager override. Then from you extension call that custom operation then standard framework will throw the manager override option and based on the return result you can continue your business flow.
