When this parameter "Enable lookup for product search" in sales and marketing parameters is enabled you don't need to search in the lookup table. You can type your search string directly in.

If you deactivate the parameter than the "normal" behavior is active and you can search in the lookup table as expected.

I should work the same even when the parameter is active I can search via "contains" across the item table.
