We would like the country field in customeraddress to be presented as a drop down list that displays description and stores the ISO code. This would be for Account, Contact, Lead, and More Addresses. We have written our own customization for this, but it would be nice for it to be part of the product. Also, our customization doesn't extend to Advanced Find searching and this is a pain point for our users. They must enter the country code when searching. It is desirable for them to be able to select countries from a list in Advanced Find.

Thank you for your valuable feedback. We have added address selection using Bing integration, as an opt-in feature in Sales.
You can enable it using the steps listed - Enable address suggestions | Microsoft Learn

The list can be populated and update from the ISO list either by MS, the partner or the end user.

Data quality will improve as well as data entry speed.

As Thomas states, light up address validation in all 365 Biz Apps. This is not just a country field issue. Address validation should be OOB. Its way past due.

I would be really nice if when you start typing the address it gives suggestions to addresses. So not only country, do not forget about the suggestion on address.

This is no-brainer!

Within same scope, please fix everything else related to accounts, addresses and contacts.

When selecting account then address fields should be prefilled automatically (like in any other software, for example Business Central). When creating quote then out of the box all fields are empty - there is "Potential customer" field but its irrelevant to "Bill to" field, address, contact - nothing is copied over.

Its nice to have option to customize and do it ourselves but come on - 21st century and some basic functions should be there out of the box. One other good reason is that some developers/partners solve it differently and its a mess. And all messy solutions affect how customers feel about the product - so wise to make basic things work.

A lookup field would be preferable

I fully agree - having a built-in Country Selection instead of a free text is a must.
How do you want to ensure you get meaningful analytics without spending hours on fixing inconsistencies and typos?

We also implemented this in our system via a custom entity with Country name, ISO2, ISO3 and additional information based on the ISO3166. Ideally, this entity can also be customized - in some cases you might want to add additional information to the country.

As per the numerous clones of this suggestion on this website (e.g. 785549, 1333404), this feature is definitely required in order to ensure a minimum of data quality, enable end-user reporting against these data fields and support multi-lingual deployments of Dynamics CRM.

Thank you for your feedback. This is a great suggestion, and we will consider this in our roadmap.

@AArndtCRMDev, are you opposed to it being a lookup field instead of a drop down list? Lookups would allow for users to search for values (instead of scroll), search for abbreviations, have filtered lookups (selecting Zip / Postal Code autopopulates, City, State / Province, and Country), etc., etc. If MSFT at least provided the *structure* (that we essentially build every implementation), the end-users could supply the relevant data...

Ideally this should be similar to currencies - have a standard list but let the administrator choose which ones are actually available for use. Perhaps do this as an entity rather than a global option set, more like currency. This also makes it easy to use country codes or short names as find fields, but display the full name. Some consideration should be given to multi-language here though. Would be great to be able to enter and retrieve country information in user's own language.
