The primary issue stems from the fact that the environment settings get associated with the app metadata, meaning that once the app is exported to the next environment, the environment settings, including the theme, are also exported. This makes it impossible to have distinct themes for different environments, which can be critical for organizations that want to differentiate their environments visually.

My proposal is for the Dynamics 365 Product Team to develop a feature that allows themes to be configured on a per-environment basis, similar to how environment variables function. This would enable users to set specific themes for each environment, providing a clearer distinction and helping prevent any potential confusion or errors that might arise from working within similar-looking environments.

By implementing this feature, users would have the flexibility to create and manage themes tailored to each environment's unique needs, thereby enhancing the overall usability and customization capabilities of Dynamics 365. Additionally, this would align with best practices in ALM, ensuring that themes can be managed and maintained independently across different stages of deployment.

I believe this enhancement would be highly beneficial and well-received by the Dynamics 365 community. It would allow for greater control and customization, ultimately leading to a more efficient and user-friendly experience.
