Currently there are Sales Tax codes (such as Tax Group code and Tax Area code) available on the Sales Journal, however, they offer no functionality. On the Sales Invoices these fields allow us to use the tax information we have setup in order to actually do tax calculations and have dollar amounts be booked to the appropriate accounts. However, on the Sales Journal none of this functionality is triggered. I am requesting that the same tax calculations on invoices are also brought over to the journal.

I originally submitted a support case to Microsoft only to find out this is not a bug and that the only way to get it fixed is to suggest an Idea and get votes so here I am. Happy Voting!

Thank you for this suggestion! Currently this is not on our roadmap. We are tracking this idea and if it gathers more votes and comments we will consider it in the future.

Adding that this should be available in all journals. Taxes can be calculated if using the gen. posting type, but there is no way to correct the tax calculations if the base is slightly off or for rounding. I'd like to see the same override capability that is in the sales invoice and purchase invoice.
