The Doc attach feature that was introduced in GP 2016 is a nice and welcome addition, but for some customers it bears a heavy change on their system resources.
Some Databases have grown exponentially since users started to attach documents on a daily basis and in some cases a company DB has increased 10 times in 2 years due mostly to the huge number of attached docs.
GP should offer a way to choose between Internal or External storage with a location that could be on the network (like a UNC path). Some backups take a big hit now to complete because of the incredible size added by attachments. Also, cleaning up old documents after historical transactions are archived is a big issue as there is no way to perform this from the front-end.
Thanks for considering improving the feature which would bring GP a step further into paperless systems.
