Without Retail Microsoft Dynamics is a regular ERP for Middle east region

Most of AX implementation at middle east region started when customer identified this is an integrated from vendor itself

  • Today its back to square 1

  • Few customers already went live with D365 is suddenly facing issues with retail fashion scenarios , eg. 50000 Line items in a sales order with 10+ landed cost distribution.

  • Implementation timeline is extended because of collaboration with Microsoft is key for even small issues or patches.

  • Large time frame recommended for 100+ retail store cloud cycle scenario is relatively much longer than AX 2012 Model on prem implementation.

I am a technical architect MS gold partner and Inner Circle. We need to know the licence and architectural options for scenario where:

  1. Customer needs LDB for operations part of the system

  2. Customer has a need of some sort of retail components. We want to sell D365 for Retail which is not currently supported in LDB scenarios

What architectural options do we have to implement D365 Operations using LDB and to implement D365 Retail? Is the only one to implement two independent systems and integrate them? Do you know what are the licensing options in this scenario?

Or maybe MS know the date of making Retail available in LDB?

This may be a deal breaker for us. We decided to move forward with D3fO because of the local business data deployment option, but learning that Retail is unavailable is hugely problematic. The retail pricing and catalog modules satisfy core business requirements for us.

There are many features in Retail that are needed by "non-retailers" as well, for example product catalogs and online stores. The incorporation of retail features in the core AX functionality was a big plus for D365 and a reason to upgrade for some companies.
